The Bahamas are a water sport paradise
A vacation in the Bahamas will involve plenty of tie in the crystal-clear blue waters. The Bahamas are the ideal destination for indulging in water sports. With water temperatures averaging 80-degrees year round, you’ll be hard-pressed to stay out of the water!
The Exumas
Head to the beautiful and peaceful Exumas to experience some of the best snorkeling in the Bahamas. Loaded Barrel Reef features large sea beds and staghorn corals. Liz Lee Shoals has a variety of soft corals and is located in shallow waters, perfect for beginners. Duck Cay South is a tiered dive site with lots of colorful fish and plants. A grouping of shallow reefs known as Three Sisters provides a multitude of small fish swimming together in schools.
Eleuthera and Harbour Island
Eleuthera and Harbour Island are known for their active water sports, including jet skiing, kayaking, parasailing, and surfing. Snorkeling and scuba diving to explore the shipwrecks just off shore are also a popular activity.
The Abacos
Enjoy swimming in the warm waters, snorkeling, and other water activities in the Abacos. Little Harbour is an excellent diving spot and offers beautiful Blue Holes. The calm waters around Green Turtle Cay are ideal for playing with yacht toys while unprotected Tahiti Beach on Elbow Cay draws surfers to its massive waves.
Turks and Caicos
This beautiful area of the Bahamas offers a wide selection of water activities. The marshes and salt ponds provide an excellent kayaking area where guests may see a wide array of both local and migratory birds. Diving is particularly rewarding the Turks and Caicos Islands, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore reefs, walls, and shipwrecks.
