Bahamas Diving Yacht Charters
The Bahamas are an ideal yacht charter destination for diving enthusiasts. The clear blue waters, which stay at around 80-degrees year round, make for an excellent scuba diving adventure! The islands offer sunken ships, underwater caves, brilliant living coral reefs, and amazing blue holes. Snorkeling and Beginner Diving
Because of the extended visibility of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, snorkeling in the Bahamas is unmatched. The lush coral reefs are home to a plethora of colorful fish and the blue of the sky touching the blue of the water is almost surreal. Families with children and beginning divers feel right at home in the warm, fun-filled waters of the Bahamas.
Blue Holes and Caves
For a unique diving experience, guests should definitely head on one (or more!) of the islands’ blue holes. The holes are usually circular, deep depressions that make for exciting dives. While you won’t see much sea life, due to the poor circulation, you should definitely experience the depths of a blue hole in the Bahamas at least once. The area is also known for its gorgeous caverns and caves that draw experienced divers from across the globe.
Walls and Reefs
The Bahamas touts the world’s third largest barrier reef that features brilliant plant life, exotic fish, and an amazing array of sea life. There are literally hundreds of other dive sites that range from gentle slopes to vertical walls, all with amazing underwater views. Underwater trenches can drop thousands of feet deep, where skilled divers will spot coral spires and spectacular sponges.
Shipwrecks
Like all great dive destinations, the Bahamas has its share of both natural and artificial wreck sites. Divers of all experience levels can find a wreck to explore. The shallow destinations feature schools of fish, including parrotfish, grunts, angelfish, and snappers, while deeper wrecks are quite eerie to view from a distance through the clear, blue waters.
